On May 7, Rotary Etobicoke for the third year, provided an important support team of 17 volunteers to assist at Dorothy Ley's annual Hike for Hospice Fundraiser.    Gillian is grateful for all the Rotarians, family and friends that donated their hard work and dedication to ensure this special event was successful.    Gillian was able to divide up our Rotarians to provide water bottles from our Rotary Etobicoke tent along with Ribfest volunteer information; volunteers to transport and set up a booth to provide water, fruit, hot chocolate and energy bars at the mid way point at Alderwood United Church; volunteers to assist with general set up for the courtyard BBQ and Closing Ceremony;  a team to cover 7 Route Marshal locations and a team to conduct a 50/50 lottery campaign.  Special thanks to Mark Winson for transporting and set up of our Rotary Etobicoke tent and for again leading the 50/50 lottery campaign which resulted in $1,000 in donations.  At the closing ceremony,   Melody Courtney, Dorothy Ley's Senior Fund Development Officer and Organizer of the Hike for Hospice Fundraiser, thanked Rotary Etobicoke for again providing a much needed team of volunteers and gave encouragement to all the hikers in the audience to consider volunteering at our Rotary Ribfest this summer.    Thanks again to our Hands on Etobicoke team of  Mark, Andre, Hugh, Fern, Roman, Laura, Sandra, Steve, Tiffany, Maggie, Samantha, Lincoln, Vaughan, Michael, Megha, Iosif and Gillian.
