Our Hands On Etobicoke program had a remarkable day on Saturday as club members were supported by Rotaractors from York U, Air Cadets, and the Salvation Army church (which hosted the event and provided some carolers for moral support!) as the team packages thousands of food packs for distribution in the community and around the world. Image

Led by Gill and Andre Dugas, the club had terrific support of many members, including some new and potential new members.

We gave Kester's Salvation Army Etobicoke Temple 15 boxes.    His Temple's food bank usually distributes food to 400 families each month; however, for December the number rises to over 800 so our food will be very welcome for the distribution just before Christmas.   We also have arranged two overseas destinations - Haiti and Philippines.     Andre, Liz and Theresa will distribute boxes to Stonegate Community Ministry, St. James' Food Basket on Burnhamthorpe (the second largest food bank in Toronto)  and St. James Parklawn Food Bank and Gill hopes to get 12 boxes down to a Mohawk Band at Tyendinaga. ImageImageImage
