On Thursday, January 5, Rotarian Gillian presented Rotary Etobicoke's cheque for $1,500 to Haven on the Queensway's Director Bev Hynek and Director of Development Susan Carbone. The funds were provided to support Haven's First Care Program which meets the material and nutritional needs of pregnant women and parents of newborns and infants up to age one by providing food aid, clothing, diapers, formula and moral support.
Bev explained that the number of families attending Haven's First Care Program has increased greatly in the last year with the arrival of many refugee and newcomer families in Etobicoke. Haven is very appreciative for Rotary Etobicoke timely support for this important program.
Haven on the Queensway is a charitable organization that provides physical, emotional and spiritual needs to people in Etobicoke and surrounding communities. Gillian, along with grandson Lincoln (in photo) also provided 4 large bags of youth and women's clothing and 6 large bags of toys, games, stuffed animals and books for Haven's families.
