Team Ribfest at Haven's Coldest Night of the Year
Posted by Gillian Dugas
I wanted to share what a great time our Rotary Etobicoke Ribbers' Team had participating in The Coldest Night of the Year's fundraiser for Haven on the Queensway on Saturday, February 21. Haven on the Queensway is a non-profit charitable organization in Etobicoke that provides relief to people in our community by meeting their physical and emotional needs.
The Rotary Club of Etobicoke was a $1,000 sponsor for the event and our Team raised $570 towards the total of $32,002. This amount represents 25% of Haven's operational budget so they are grateful for our sponsorship and team participation.
Throughout the year we also provided Haven on the Queensway with filled student backpacks, Halloween goodie bags and dozens of Christmas gifts for their clients.
Team Rotary Etobicoke Ribbers were : Michael Lu, Theresa Sherwood, Liz Read, Andre Dugas, Hugh Williams, Gill Dugas , Governor Elect Michael Bell and Jo-Ann Bell (not shown in photo).
