Rotarians provide Food Hampers to support families
On Saturday, December 11, Rotarians arrived from 10 a.m. onwards with Food Baskets, Hampers and Bags full of food items to support families in Lakeshore and beyond who have been identified as in need of extra assistance in the weeks around Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who donated to help the 140 families on a priority list. Carla Neto, Executive Director, said that many of the women-led families had already contacted Women's Habitat and expressed concerns that the food baskets might not be available this year as they know the food is dependent on donations by unseen people and their families and friends.

These women-led families know very well that grocery items are rising all the time, and they have to trust we are there to help them again this year. Carla added that she told them not to worry because there are people getting food for the family very shortly.

A special thank you to Marcus Owtram for 11 amazing baskets and to his daughter for providing a gift for a child in the program who will get a special present this year. And to Gerry Lue, his family, friends and clients for once again dropping off nine baskets on Friday. I also know that Romulo Orlandini and his wife, along with her work colleagues, delivered their own sponsored ten baskets last Thursday, December 9.
